Ms.Laverne Braswell, 86 of Winnfield, Louisiana died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Jena Nursing Home & Rehabilitation in Jena, Louisiana.

Born Tuesday, August 4, 1936 in Goldonna, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Carl Malone and the late Eunice Stewart Malone. She was the wife of the late Clovis Braswell. Ms. Braswelll was a devoted Christian and member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she attended. She took care of the church nursery during church. She very much loved her grandchildren. She never met a stranger, as everyone grew to love her.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Patricia Tolbert (Fiance Carllyn Sharp); grandchildren, Tonya O'Bryan (Chris), Carl Tolbert (Seletta), Ronnie Tolbert (Jennifer), and four additional grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nineteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clovis Braswell; son, Jeff Braswell; parents, Carl and Eunice Stewart Malone; siblings, Shirley Collins, Dwayne Malone, Roy Malone

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. John Jones officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories, Winnfield, LA. under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Tannehill, Louisiana. The family requests flowers be ordered through Sensational Scents of Winnfield, Louisiana at (318)628-7337.
