Mr. Larry "Eddie" Bridges, 76 of Jena, Louisiana passed from this life on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born Monday, July 30, 1945 in Alexandria, Louisiana, he was the son of the late R.J. and Juanita Aiken  Bridges. He was the husband of 55 years to his wife Shirley Smith  Bridges. Mr. Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed time with his precious family and loved fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents R. J. and Juanita Aiken Bridges; and one brother, Richard A. Bridges.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Smith Bridges; brother, Raymond Smith (Ethel); Sister-in-law, Barbara Bridges; nieces and nephews, Bo Smith (Amy), Patrick Smith (Nicole), Nita Bridges DeVille; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Temple Baptist Church, Hwy. 495, Jena, Louisiana, and again on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 9:00AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church located at Hwy. 459 Jena, Louisiana 71342 with the Rev. Johnnie Phillips and Rev. Ricky Gresham officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Jena, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield.

Honored to serve the family as pallbearers are Corbin Baum, John Sid Grimm, Andy Gresham, Mickey Gresham, Buddy Pennison, and John Robins. Honorary pallbearers will be Kennon Daniels, Lanny Blake, Bo Smith, and Joel Esters.

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Shirley requests all friends to donate to a charitable cause in Mr. Eddie's memory.
