Kevin Chad Camp, dedicated husband, father, teacher, and coach, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the age of 51.

Chad was born the oldest of three children to Julius and Sarah Camp in Alexandria, Louisiana on May 8, 1971. He graduated from Winnfield Senior High School in 1989 before attending Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education. Upon graduation, he started his 29 year career as the agriculture teacher at Calvin High School. In 2017, he began his journey as Calvin High School Lady Cougar's head softball coach. In his short coaching career, he led the Calvin Lady Cougers to victory with two consecutive state championships.

Chad met his wife, Latrelle, in 1994 and married March 9, 1996 and made their home in Calvin, Louisiana. They welcomed their first child, Josie on April 12, 2003. In short work, their family grew with the birth of twin sons, Alex and Andrew on February 11, 2006.

Chad is preceeded in death by his brother, Justin Brad Camp; paternal grandparents, Albert and Lillian Camp; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Kathryn Cook.

Chad is survived by his wife of 27 years, Latrelle; their children, Josie, Alex, and Andrew Camp; parents, Julius and Sarah Camp; father and mother-in-law, Otis and Sue Wall; sister, Tiffany Waters and husband Craig; sister, Keri Lowrey and husband Brendon; brother-in-law, Otis Lamar Wall, II and wife Renita; sister-in-law, Alexis Hodnett and husband Dan; He will be forever remembered by his neices and nephew Caitlyn, Caleb and Carlynn Waters; Madelynn and Braeden Lowrey, Paige Kelley, and Lacey Lowrey; Maggie and Otis Lamar Wall, III (Trey)

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Calvin High School Gymnasium with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, near Calvin, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield..

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Caleb Waters, Cody Martin, Chris Bedgood, David Lee Huckaby, Justin Reed, and Ricky Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Calvin FFA Officer Team and the Calvin Lady Cougers.
