Services for Kenneth E. Deen will be held at Verda Baptist Church on Wednesday July 30th at 10:00 am with the Reverend Frank Peacock officiating. Interment will follow at Verda Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at Verda Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 29th from 4 pm to 8 pm and again on Wednesday from 9 am until time of services.

Mr. Deen, 81, of Verda, passed away Sunday July 27th in his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

He was a member of Verda Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years.  He served 33 years in education in Louisiana with the majority of those years spent in Grant Parish as a teacher, administrator and supervisor. After retiring from Louisiana, he taught an additional 10 years in Jasper Texas.

Mr. Deen was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Leola Deen, his brothers Keith and Enloe Deen and great granddaughter Aubree George.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife of sixty-two years Elaine Deen, daughters Patti Williams (Roy), Susan Teddlie (Paxton) and son Jason Deen (Sherry), eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two fur babies Bella and Macey.

Pallbearers will be John Giles, Kyle Locker, Russ Roberts, Barry Minton, Daegan Eubanks, Phillip George, and Rylan Kuhlmann. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Verda Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Verda Cemetery
