Mrs. Kathy Watson, a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving sister, and dear friend, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born on Monday, April 29, 1952, in Winnfield, Louisiana, and lived a rich and fulfilling life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Z. T. Dark and Billie Katherine Dick, as well as her loving daughter, Leatha Michelle Watson, and her first cousin, Ronnie Dark. Their memories will forever be cherished and honored.

Kathy was a pillar of strength and a beacon of kindness in her community of Dodson, Louisiana. Her generous spirit and caring nature touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. She found joy in the companionship of her beloved dogs, Sugar and Honey, who preceded her in death, and Angel, who continues to be a source of comfort to the family. Kathy had a passion for shopping, enjoyed bream fishing, and loved watching soap operas. She was also a dedicated and faithful member of Midway Baptist Church, where her presence will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are her devoted husband, Tommy Watson, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Kathy's best friend and daughter, Brandi Watson Causey, and son-in-law Todd, will forever carry the warmth of her love in their hearts. Kathy shared a profound bond with her sisters, Linda Nugent (Leon) and Judy Jordan (Bobby), which time cannot diminish. Additionally, Kathy leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom were deeply touched by her love and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to join in the public visitation to bid their final farewells at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Mike Staples and Rev. Craig James officiating.

To honor Kathy's life and memory, the following individuals have been chosen as pallbearers: Darion Hudson, Cody Gray, Matt Truelove, Mike Spangler, Eugene Owens, and Kevin Evans. In addition, David Dick and Terry Jones will serve as honorary pallbearers, joining in paying tribute to her life.

Kathy will be laid to rest in Harmony Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. After the graveside service, food and fellowship to honor her memory will take place at Harmony Grove Church.
