Kathy Elaine Allgor Spikes passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Kathy was born on November 1, 1953 to Harry Russell Allgor and Lucille Shaw. Born and raised in Clarence, Louisiana, Kathy grew up in a cotton field and loved to tell stories of her childhood.

Kathy married the love of her life, Donnie Spikes, on March 21, 1970. They shared 54 beautiful years together. This loving couple built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, family and traveling. After 16 years of marriage, they welcomed their miracle daughter into this world, Chantell Renae.

To know Kathy was to love her. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. Kathy was full of faith and never feared the day she would leave this earth.  She wasn't afraid to tell you what she thought, but she was also an encourager, with her faith, strength and courage shining through. She was a strong woman- she would tell you that she came from a long line of strong women. One of her favorite sayings was "Put your big girl panties on".   Kathy fought a long battle with Breast Cancer, but she never complained about pain, discomfort, or asked the question "WHY ME?" She never gave up,  instead she faced her journey with courage and her resilient faith.

Kathy's greatest title in life was Nana. She loved being a Nana to her baby, her grandson, John Orville. Her life revolved around John Orville and for 20 years he was the reason she lived.  Her face would light up just speaking his name and then seeing his sweet face, she would look like a ray of sunshine.  John was her life's breath.

Kathy  mourned the loss of her son, Jake. She would tell you that he was waiting at the Pearly Gates for her. Kathy looked forward to the day she would be reunited with Jake and he would be prancing on all four paws.

Kathy was a lifelong member of Berean Baptist Church and a member of the Butte Tribe of Bayou Bourbeaux.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Donnie Spikes. daughter, Chantell Spikes Johnson, son-in-law Eric Johnson, grandson, John Orville Spikes and his girlfriend Olivia Horrell, whom she loved dearly, one sister, Shirley Brown, one brother James Allgor, one aunt Betty Shows, brother- in- law Louis Spikes and sister-in-law Vickie Spikes, along with a  host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
