Karen Lynn Franks, age 66, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Winnfield, LA. She was born on Saturday, March 23, 1957, in Alamogordo, NM. Karen resided in Calvin, LA, and was a beloved member of her community.

Karen had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished dogs, Daniel and Lilly. She found joy and comfort in their companionship throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lynn Garrett Franks, and her brother, Michael Franks.

Karen is survived by her father, Louis A. Franks; sister-in-law, Sue Franks; nephew, Shaun Franks; and her fur babies, Daniel and Lilly. She is also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A public visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from noon to service time. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Leonard McDaniel officiating. The interment will follow at Sanders Chapel Cemetery.
