Justin Daniel Curry of Winnfield, Louisiana passed from this earthly realm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at LSU-Ochsner Medical Center in Shreveport, LA after a hard fight from injuries sustained in a recent incident. Justin fought through 8 surgeries, but his body could no longer keep up with the battle and his tire soul is finally at rest.
Justin was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His favorite hunting spots were in the Kisatchie National Forest. His favorite fishing spots were on Saline Lake and Saline Bayou, making the most of the Sportsman's Paradise in Winn Parish. Justin had been a Corrections Officer for CCA for over 10 years, and held several other jobs during his lifetime, including a long tenure as a Reserve Police Officer for the Winnfield Police Department.
Justin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles M Curry, Sr, and step-grandfather, Thomas J. Frederick, Jr. Preceding him on his maternal side was his grandparents, Troy L. and Myriam Gay Castleman of Park Hill, Ok, and his special great-grandparents Eurie Bolton and Myriam May Crowell.
Justin is survived by his newlywed wife, Anastasia Austin Curry, along with their newly formed family, daughter Alana Curry, 11, of Ball, LA, Mackensie Bartley, 18, twins Mariah and Ma'layah Curry, ages 7, as well as his expected twins due in August, Gabriel and Gabrielle Curry. Other left to cherish his memory are his parents, Charles (Chuck) Curry and Angie Curry of Winnfield, brothers Charles (Chip) Curry, Bolton Curry both of Winnfield, and Michael Curry (Amanda) of Stonewall, LA. He had a special nephew, Joseph Curry of Minden, and nieces Emma Curry, Losie-Kate Curry, and Riley Curry, and paternal grandmother, Carlotta Frederick.
Visitation will be Monday, July 7 th from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at South Winnfield Baptist Church on Country Club Road. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 8th at 2:00 pm also at South Winnfield Baptist Church with interment at Sardis Cemetery immediately after the service. Officiating will be his brother, Rev. Michael Curry and Rev. Jack Miller.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
