Julie Ann Boyett, 78, of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Winnfield, Louisiana. Born on Thursday, July 4, 1946, in Winnfield, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Blanchard Gilcrease and Betty Mae Stroud Gilcrease; her brother, Jimmy Whisonant; and her sister, Doris Nugent.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Donald Ray Boyett of Dodson, Louisiana; her children, Donald Boyett, Jr., Judy Cosby (Chuck), Christy Griffin (Danny), and Suzette Hoffpauir (Mickey); grandchildren, Sam (Brooke), Logan, Ben, Nolan (Cheyenne), Cassie, and Rose; great-grandchildren, Noah and Kinsley Grace; her brothers, Noah and Glenn Doyle Gilcrease; her sister, Jackie Eubanks; and her cherished puppy, Lola.

Julie was a long-time member of South Winnfield Baptist Church and later worshipped at Cypress Creek Baptist Church, where she cherished her Sunday school class. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

Julie's passions included spoiling her grandchildren, cultivating beautiful flowers in her garden, sewing, quilting, reading, and delving into her family's genealogy. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on her community and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Dodson, Louisiana.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the church, with Rev. Nicholas Verret, Rev. Jesse Henderson, Rev. LaVerl Shell, and Rev. Rayford Chandler officiating.

Interment will take place at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Dodson, Louisiana.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Ben Cosby, Sam Cosby, Logan Griffin, Nolan Griffin, Mike Boyett, and Greg Boyett. Honorary pallbearers include Toby Boyett, Matthew Boyett, and members of Cypress Creek Baptist Church.
