Joseph Wayne McCarty, aged 41, of Winnfield, LA, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the residence of his sister in Kansas City, MO. Born on June 21, 1984, in Shreveport, LA, to Teresa and Andrew McCarty, Joe was a beloved father, brother, and friend.

Joe attended WSHS and later earned his GED. He had a long career as a truck driver, working for companies such as Trans Am and Murphy Brothers, and most recently was employed at a Goodwill in Missouri. Joe married Kimberly Rasbury on February 21, 2004, at FBC Winnfield, LA, and they later divorced in 2009.

Joe was a man of faith, finding strength and hope in his walk with God. He enjoyed driving trucks, drawing, playing games on his Xbox, reading his Bible, listening to music, and spending time with his children. His infectious smile and unforgettable laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Betty Nicole McCarty, Shelby Lonnette McCarty, Ethan Wayne McCarty, and Alyissa Ann Marie McCarty; his ex-wife, Kimberly McCarty; his father, Andrew Byron McCarty, and stepmother, Terri; his uncles, Timothy and Rodney McCarty, Albert Flurry, and Roger Flurry; his aunts, Sandra Flurry and Elizabeth Almond; his sister, Natasha McCarty; his brothers, Joshua Gish and Andrew McCarty; and his cousin, Robbie Cook. Joe is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Elaine McCarty, his paternal grandparents, Lovis and AG McCarty, and his sister, Shirley Lonnette McCarty.

A viewing was held on October 22, 2025, attended by his family. Joe was cremated, and his ashes will be brought home at a later date to be placed on his mother's grave.
