Johnny Albert Wilson was born June 8, 1946, and passed away in Rapides Regional Medical center surrounded my loved ones on March 1, 2023. He was 76 years young.
Johnny was known as Doctor John by many of his trucking friends. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the Marines. He enjoyed collecting antique cars and also fixing them. He loved his family and was eager to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is loved by many and will be missed.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Gola Wilson, his wife Mary (Kirl) Wilson, and a step daughter Brenda McMillin.
Those left to love and miss him are his three children. Michelle Lassare & husband Henry of Jonesboro, Johnnie Lynn Wilson of Hebert, and Harold Wilson of Tullos, two step daughters, Wanda Price and Debbie Craft & husband DeWayne, siblings Larry Vines & wife Constance, Teresa Neal & husband Kevin, ten grandchildren, Haylie Blewer, Stephanie Driggers, Jamie McCartney, Brittany Breland, Sean Wilson, Joseph Rials, Kelcey Rials, Kacey Rials, Bryce Walters and Amie Corley, as well as seven step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 9:30am until 11:00am in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held March 4, 2023, at 11:00am in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens with Rev. Curtis Thornton officiating.
Following the service Johnny will be laid to rest in the Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery of the Magnolia Community south of Jena under the directions of Kinner & Stevens.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Alex Ramos, Daniel Driggers, Joseph Rials, Mike Callendar, James White, and Jamie McCartney. Honorary pallbearer is Harold Wilson.
