Mr. John Ricky Wise, age 75, of Calvin, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Winnfield, Louisiana. He was born on Sunday, August 13, 1950, in Jonesboro, Louisiana, to the late John Benjamin Wise and Geneva Harper Wise.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jonette Smiley, Sandy Corbet, Sheila Moffett, and Gary Wise; and his son, Brian Wise. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and loved going to sporting events. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, staying outside and staying busy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Wanda Guin Wise of Calvin, LA; daughter, Summer Wise; step-sons, Tommy Dunn and Michael Dunn; siblings, Donny Wise, Terry Wise, Randy Wise, Jackie Wise, Donna Hammons, and Betty Taylor. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Wise will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the love he shared with all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Yankee Springs Baptist Church of Goldonna, Louisiana on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 9:00AM to 10:30AM.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at New Jerusalem Cemetery on Thursday  with Rev. Donny Wise and Rev. Mike Carpenter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
