Mr. John T. Williams, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on Friday, August 16, 1940, in Winnfield, LA, to Gresham and Lessie Moffett Williams.

John T. was a resident of Atlanta, LA, where he led a rich and meaningful life surrounded by the love of family and friends. Although his physical presence is no longer with us, his memory will be held close to the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy will endure for generations.

Mr. Williams worked as a logger and drove a log truck until his retirement.  He loved spending time with his family and fishing on Saline Lake.  His grandkids thought he was a big teddy bear and gave the best hugs.  John T. didn't want for much, but he sure did love his wife, Nelda.  He missed her so deeply, that he decided to join her in heaven on her birthday.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gresham Williams; mother, Lessie Moffett Williams; wife, Nelda Mae Sweat Williams; sister, Donna Jean Berry; and brothers, Jimmy Williams and Roy Glen Williams.

John T. is survived by his sons, Kevin Williams (Darlene)  and Keith Williams (Kelli) . He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Hanson and Kim Davis (Gary). John's legacy lives on through his grandchildren Taylor Roach (Landon), Jada, Jake, Maci, and Matthew, as well as his great-grandchild, Palmer Roach. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Public visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 11:00 AM to service time. The funeral service will take place at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Doug James officiating. John T.  will be laid to rest at Atlanta Cemetery.

The pallbearers for Mr. Williams are Mark Sweat, Michael Sweat, Damon Cox, Lavon Hanson, Johnny Sweat, and Joe Lang. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jake Williams, Matthew Williams, Lawrence Desadier, and Rocky Desadier.
