Mr. John Daniel Scott, age 71, of Saline Lake, LA, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born on March 10, 1952, in Winnfield, LA, Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank "Bud" Scott, Jr. (Lillian Scott), and brothers Randolph Paul Scott and James David Scott (twin).

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, combat-decorated Lt Col John Daniel Scott, II, USAF (Ret) and wife Carol of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren, Laura Mackenzie Scott and John Daniel Scott, III, of Powder Springs, GA; sisters Shirley Scott Allen of Winnfield, LA, and Frances Anne Scott Harris of Shreveport, LA; and brother Charles Andrew Scott (Sue) of Winnsboro, LA.

Over the years, "Dan, the Man" was an independent business owner, retired from Bell South, and an award-winning real estate agent. He enjoyed LSU and New Orleans Saints football and proudly wore #51 in remembrance of his own football playing days as a Winnfield Tiger. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing on the lake and spending time with his siblings and family. A celebration of life will be held at a private graveside ceremony at a later date.
