John William Nugent, 74 of Georgetown, Louisiana passed from this life on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Born Tuesday, January 13, 1948 in Jena, Louisiana, he was the son of the late William Lonnie Nugent and the late Annie Belle Richmond Nugent. Mr. John enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time and certainly spending time with his beloved family. He spent his working career as a welder and mechanic.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Nugent of 34 years; son, William Chris Nugent; daughters, Deanna Dawn Hawkins (Tony), Courtney Amber Nugent; Stepsons, Keith Allen Troutman (Sarah), Kevin Andrew Troutman (Melinda); grandchildren; Brooke Danielle Lincecum, Shai Destiny Johnson, Lacey Nicole Walker (Peyton), Sadie Marie Hoadley; step grandchildren, Morgan Troutman, Matthew Troutman, Madison Troutman, Mason Troutman, Isaac Troutman, and Victoria Troutman; brothers, Paul Lonnie Nugent (Linda), Roy Gene Nugent (Vickie),and Ronnie Dale Nugent (Karen)

He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Marvin Lane Nugent; step-father - James "JimTom" Mayes; and nephew, Mark Brandon Nugent

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Georgetown Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Griffith and Rev. Paul Nugent officiating. Interment will be in New Union Cemetery, Tullos, LA. under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Georgetown Baptist Church, Georgetown, Louisiana.

Those honored to serve the family as pallbearers are Jeremy Nugent, Hunter Nugent, Tristain Calk, Peyton Walker, Josh Phillips, and Jami Banes. Honorary pallbearers will be William Chris Nugent,and Roy Gene Nugent and Tony Hawkins
