John Wayne "Johnny" Long, age 76 of the Belah Community, Trout, Louisiana passed from this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

He was born to the union of James Wade Long & Cornelia Valerie "Sis" Edwards Long on January 23, 1947, in Jena, Louisiana.

Johnny owned and operated Long's Body in Jena for 50 years. He loved racing, and talking with anyone he came in contact with, whether at the tracks, at work or on the streets! He loved and cherished his family especially his grandchildren.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father James Wade Long, mother Cornelia "Sis" Lincoln, stepfather James Thomas "Abe" Lincoln, brother Paul Anthony "Tony" Long, sister Ruby Janice "Sissy" Norton, and granddaughter Shelby Paige VanHoozen,

Those left to love and miss him are his son Kevin Long of Jena, a daughter Holly (Long) VanHoozen, of Trout, a brother Hugh Eugene "Gene" Long & wife Cheryl of Fayetteville, AR, his longtime girlfriend Kathy Sue Visoria, of the Belah Community, granddaughter Baily LeighAnn Long, grandson Zachary David Long, granddaughter Hannah Allyce VanHoozen, grandson Wyatt Spencer Long, granddaughter Aaliyah Paige Visoria, a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens, from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens with Rev. Mickey Hudnall officiating. Johnny will be laid to rest following the service in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena on Hwy. 84, under the directions of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve the family and Johnny as pallbearers are Bruce Boneau, Zac Long, Wyatt Long, Leon Graham, Brandon LeMay, David Evans, Vince Stapleton, and JD Coon.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Milton, John Sid Grim, Wilford Coleman and Murray Crowe.
