Mr. Joe Edward Collins, Sr., age 79 of Pollock, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Born Wednesday, August 26, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Mildred Wells Collins, foster parents, Albert and Irene Slayer; siblings, Huey P. Collins, Leeina Collins, Bobby Gene Collins, Lee Hubert Collins and half-brother, Ronnie Collins.

Mr. Collins was a retired truck driver and loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Robert Collins, Chelsea Collins Broussard (Matthew), Theressa Howell, Lisa Collins, Carla Renee Collins and Joe Edwards Collins, Jr.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Ethel Smith, Jimmy Collins (Carrie), Betty Collins, half-sister, Cathy Collins, half-brother, Danny Collins and foster-sister, Suzie McCarty; mother of Robert and Chelsea, Jennifer Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Big Creek Cemetery of Pollock, LA with Rev. Tommy G. Sanson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

The family will receive friends at Southern Funeral Home on Friday from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM.
