Joe Sandifer, age 71 of Jena, Louisiana passed from this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born to the union of Orvin Pershing Sandifer and Bettye Jo (Allbritton) Sandifer on Tuesday, February 24, 1953, in Jena, Louisiana.

Joe was an avid fisherman and he delighted in entertaining friends and family with his fishing escapades. Yet, more than that, he took the greatest pride in sharing the achievements of his children and grandchildren with anyone who would listen.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry Sandifer.

Those left to love and miss him are his wife of 46 years Teresa of Jena, four (4) daughters Shelly Johnson & husband Bryan, of Lindale, Texas, Teacy Kendrick & husband Dock, of Lumberton, Texas, Christy Sandifer, of Jena, and Rae Sandifer, of Jena, a sister Glenda Cooper & husband James, Jena, a brother Jeff Sandifer & wife Mandy, of Jena, ten (10) grandchildren, ten (10) great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens with Bro. Darrell Black and Rev. Jeff Sandifer officiating. Joe will be laid to rest following the service in the Renfrow Cemetery, in Jena under the directions of Kinner & Stevens.

Those honored to serve Joe and his family as pallbearers are Trent Norman, Brandon Means, JR Townsend, Jonathan Whitehurst, James Allbritton, and Jeremy Cox. Honorary pallbearers are Lane Capps, James Cooper, Matt Cooper and Dock Kendrick.
