Joann Giles

Joann Giles, a steadfast spirit and beloved sister, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on July 13, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, Joann made her mark on the world through both her professional accomplishments and her vibrant personality.

A notable career as a Purchasing Director for the U.S. Department of Defense allowed Joann to navigate the complexities of government procurement with grace and dedication. She was proud of her work and remained committed to serving her country throughout her tenure in a role that demanded precision, strategic thinking, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Beyond her professional life, Joann was a woman of many interests and passions. She found joy participating in the Ladies Bowling League. Joann also was an avid collector of Cherished Teddies and enjoyed riding the rapids of Northern California.

Joann is survived by her loving siblings: brother, Tom Giles and wife Melody of Boise, Idaho; sister, Barbara Price and husband Norman of San Antonio, TX; sister, Susan Gerlich and husband Butch of Ogden, Utah; and sister, Judy Melton of Winnfield, Louisiana. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The bond she shared with her family was profound, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
