Jim had a profound love for his children and grandchildren, which was evident in every aspect of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Taylor and Marie Taylor Denler; his sister, Margaret Goss; his brothers, David Taylor and Marvin Denler; and his infant brother.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Karen McConathy Taylor; his daughters, Carolyn Hines (Butch), Penny Wagoner (Bryan), and Tammy Hagan (Mason); his sister, Polly Peltier (Alfred); his grandchildren, Dillon, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Vivian, Riley, Rachel, and Cody; his great-grandchildren, Harper, Willow, Scout, Kayden, Autumn, Drake, and Masie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Public visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Sanders Chapel Cemetery.
Dillon Hines, Lonnie Abshire, Brandon Jordan, Riley Wagoner, David Taylor, and Austin Willis will serve the family as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Taylor, Kayden Rhodes, Scout Bundy, Drake Abshire, and Payton Rials.
Jim was a recipient of a heart transplant 14 plus years ago. He got to see his grandkids grow up and see his great grandkids. Please be an organ donor. God knows you can't take them with you.
