immie Roy Johnson, lovingly known as Roy, was born on January 29, 1946, in Saline, Louisiana, and passed away on January 25, 2026, in Winnfield, Louisiana. He spent the majority of his life in Calvin, Louisiana, a place he proudly called home.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Johnson; his brother, James Johnson; his grandsons, Stylen Wise and Jeremy Wise; and his great-granddaughter, Olivia Ramsey.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Johnson; his children, Donna Wise, Stacy Johnson (Debra), Wendy Wise, Cassie Hicks, and Lacey Parker; and a large and loving family of grandchildren: Brittany Johnson (DJ), Samantha Johnson, Haley Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Cole Johnson, Daniel Wise (Jessie), Hanna Roark (Bradley), Rachel Williams (Trent), Monica Liles (Ethan), Justin Wise, Alexis Wise, Freddy Orr, Jalen Wise, Jayce Hicks, and Maverick Parker.

Roy also leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Hazel Flack, Saydee Flack, Braxton Harris, Eric Joe III "Tripp", Ainsleigh Johnson, Layton Wise, Maddie Wise, Paisley Wise, Brynlee Roark, Harper Roark, Addison Wise, Emerson Wise, Thomas Williams, Peyton Williams, Carson Liles, Katelyn Liles, Ledger Young, and Braxton Wise.

A hardworking logger by trade, Roy was known for his strong work ethic and his deep love for his family. He especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a soft spot for children in general.

If you knew Roy, you knew he was hard-headed, but he had a heart of gold. Roy showed his love through actions rather than words. Whether it was fixing something that was broken, clearing a road, or simply showing up when someone needed him.  Underneath that tough, worn-out work jacket was a generous soul who loved his family above all else.

A memorial service will be held at Calvin Baptist Church on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00pm.
