Belah Community
Jewell (Taylor) Price, age 95 of the Belah Community was received into Heaven Thursday, March 9, 2023.
She was born to the union of Joseph "Joe" Mason Taylor and Elouise (Methvin) Taylor on Thursday, November 10, 1927, in the Belah Community of Trout, Louisiana.
Aunt Jewell (as so many friends and family called her) was member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends always with a welcome smile and laughter. She loved quilting and canning. She never met a stranger. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Aunt Jewell was preceded in death by her husband Claude Price of 45 years, son Tommy Price, her parents, four (4) brothers Woodrow Taylor, Claude Taylor, Clayton Taylor, and Alonzo Taylor, four (4) sisters Mildred Twiner, Chessie Price, Annie Walpole, and Freddie Hall, and a grandson Oscar Alan Thompson, II.
Those left to love and miss her, a son Danny Price & wife Pam, of the Belah Community, a daughter Teresa Thompson & husband Oscar, of Leesville, a sister Ida Fern Ganey, of the Belah Community, a brother Charles Taylor, Dubach, a grandson Jesse Thompson, two (2) granddaughters Khristi Sanders, and Amie Carr, two (2) great grandsons Andrew Sanders and Noah Carr, four (4) great granddaughters Addie Sanders, Kate Carr, Olivia Carr, and Preslee Carr, and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10:00AM until time of service.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens with Rev. Shad Tibbs and Rev. Tom Swain officiating. Aunt Jewell will be laid to rest in the Belah Cemetery of the Belah Community of Trout, Louisiana under the directions of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.
Those honored to service the family as pallbearers will be Andrew Sanders, Noah Carr, Raymond Hall, Timmy Hall, Jimmy Ganey, and Kendall Allen Price. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Thompson, Marlon Bell, Mickey Cockerham, Jay Sanders and Wes Carr.
