Jerry Davidson, age 85, of Wheeling, Louisiana passed away January 23, 2024  after a lengthy illness. He was born December 29, 1938  in Wheeling to Mr. Mack Davidson and Mrs. Elizabeth Meyer Davidson.

Jerry spent over 50 years working in the logging industry. After retirement, his favorite past time was spending time with family and friends. When he was not surrounded by family and friends, you could find him hunting, fishing, or working in his yard.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Janet Fletcher Davidson; grandson Sawyer Davidson; sister Gertrude Melder; and five brothers, ID Davidson, Leo Davidson, JC Davidson, EB Davidson, and Charles Davidson. Jerry is survived by his three sons Jeff Davidson, Michael Davidson (Karla), and Cade Fletcher (Sabrina); brothers Clyde Davidson and Roy Dale Davidson.

Others left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren Levi Davidson (Maria), Victoria Davidson, Josie Davidson, and Rayven Kuhlmann;  three great grandchildren Lily, Layla, and Sadie Davidson , as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Autumn Leaves Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and Hand in Hand Hospice for the care Jerry received during this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 26, 2024, at Verda Baptist Church under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Davidson, Ryan Davidson, Bryan Davidson, Robert Davidson, Steven Davidson, Mark Davidson and Travis Davidson
