Jedediah Dwight "Jed" Cox, age 48, a native of Tullos, Louisiana, passed away at his home in Mississippi on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born on August 25, 1977, in Tullos, Louisiana, Jed was known for his easygoing nature and his love for simple, meaningful moments. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, spending time outdoors, and playing with his beloved cats. Jed found joy in companionship and conversation, and he valued the relationships that shaped his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie David Cox. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Violet Cox; his longtime companion and love, Carolyn Polk; his sister, Amanda Johns (Jerry) of Tannehill, Louisiana; and his brother, John Cox of Tullos, Louisiana. He is also survived by six nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew, and two great-nieces, along with a host of extended family and friends who will remember him with love.
Graveside services for Jed will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at Cox-Guin Cemetery, with Pastor Bobby McGuire officiating. Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Pallbearers will be John Cox, Tyler Cox, Zane Cox, Jerimiah Liles, and Jerry Johns.
Jed's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
