Jeanette Alvern Bishop Davison, 85, of Montgomery, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Born on February 12, 1941, in Montgomery, Louisiana, Jeanette lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was a teller at the Bank of Montgomery for 37 years and was also a clerk at the Montgomery Town Hall for 7 years.

Jeanette was a gifted seamstress whose talent blessed many family members and friends through the years. She also possessed a love for athletics and was an accomplished basketball player during her college years while attending both Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana College.

Her greatest joy, however, was found in her faith and her family. Raised in Union Hill Baptist Church, Jeanette later worshiped alongside her beloved husband as a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. She faithfully taught Sunday School for many years, sharing God's Word and touching the lives of countless children and adults through her gentle spirit and steadfast Christian example.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Dale Davison; her parents, Johnnie Joshua Bishop and Inez Dicie Moore Bishop; her brother, Robert Glenn Bishop and wife, Gloria Elaine Richardo Bishop; and her sister, Barbara Ann Bishop Lawson and husband, James Kenneth Lawson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sherron Kay Davison Oxley and husband, Danny; her son, Travis Roy Davison and wife, Margaret; her grandchildren, Crystal Lee Lodrigue and spouse, Shane Lodrigue, Racheal Nicole Houston and spouse, Dillon Houston, Daniel Roy Davison, Maranda Oxley Sawyer and spouse, Chris, and Sherry Oxley Scott and spouse, Scotty.

She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Jayden Lodrigue, Raeleigh Houston, Alivia Houston, Isabella Houston, Ryder Houston, Nolan Davison, Haley Sawyer Kilgore and husband, Joshua, Chris Sawyer, Jr., Jamie Scott and wife, Anna, Jace Scott, Jenna Scott, and Jordan Scott, her brother Frank Martin Bishop and his wife Martha Muriel Platt Bishop along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Montgomery with Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wheeling under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Montgomery on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Danny Oxley, Daniel Davison, Shane Lodrigue, Mark Davidson, Steven Davidson, and Dillon Houston.

Jeanette will be remembered for her quiet strength, servant's heart, enduring faith, and unconditional love for her family. Her legacy of kindness, integrity, and Christian devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
