Janet Charlene Jones, age 71, of Winnfield, was born on June 28, 1954 in Minden, Louisiana. Jan passed away peacefully with her life-long friend, Eva, and Daughter by her side,on December 27, 2025 at Rapides Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Gertrude Burdick; her beloved daughter, Amanda Charlene Jones; and her sisters, Sybil Birdwell and Lydia Steinborn.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Ralph Jones of Winnfield, Louisiana. Their love was the kind people hope for-a true fairytale marked by loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

She also leaves behind her children: Eugene Jones and Tonya of Ball, Louisiana; Tabitha Carpenter and husband Duane of Winnfield, Louisiana; and Christiana Bynog and husband Boris of Provencal, Louisiana; her sister, Connie Hunkins and husband Joe of Minden, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; Eddie Jones of Montgomery, Louisiana; Bradley Jones of Pineville, Louisiana; Casey Jones of Winnfield, Louisiana; Lexi Rainer and husband Chris, of Many, Louisiana; Ashley Mitchell of Atlanta, Louisiana;Casi Killian and husband Caleb of Natchitoches, Louisiana; Devon Carpenter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Joseph Bynog of Alexandria,Louisiana; Timothy Bynog and wife Heather ofProvencal,Louisiana; Kristen Kosloski and husband CJ of Bolixi, Mississippi; Jacob Bynog and wife Harley of Provencal, Louisiana 26 great-grandchildren; Nephew, Donald Steinborn and wife Darla of Scott, Louisiana; Lifelong friends, Charlie and Eva Denham of Clarence, Louisiana and her beloved four legged son, Bam-Bam.

Janet retired after many years as a school bus driver and cafeteria worker for Calvin High School, a role she took pride in as she safely cared for generations of children. She was also a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church in Dodson, Louisiana, where her faith and kindness were evident to all who knew her.

She was a kind, loving, and wonderfully stubborn soul, known for putting her family above everything else. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. Janet was especially famous for her amazing cooking, which brought family together and filled both hearts and homes.

Visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana, on December 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for family, and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for friends. Visitation will resume on December 31, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services officiated by Brother Arthur Robinson and Brother Glen Davis will begin at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery in St. Maurice, Louisiana.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are her son and grandsons. Eugene Jones, Eddie Jones, Bradley Jones, Casey Jones, Joseph Bynog, Timothy Bynog, Jacob Bynog and Chris Rainer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Boris Bynog, Duane Carpenter and CJ Kosloski.

Janet Charlene Jones leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and family that will continue through generations. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She trusted deeply in the promises of God and lived with love, service, and devotion to her family. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, we find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home, healed and whole, rejoicing in the presence of her Lord. We take peace in the assurance that this farewell is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
