Ida Fern (Taylor) Ganey, age 89 of the Belah Community, Trout, Louisiana passed from this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

She was born to the union of Joseph "Joe" Mason Taylor and Elouise (Methvin) Taylor on a Tuesday, June 12, 1934, in the Belah Community and was raised there. She was the second to the youngest of eleven (11) children during the Great Depression. Ida Fern was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Ida Fern spent her life tending to the needs of others as a sitter. She touched so many lives with her special way of comforting and caring for any person in need. We celebrate her long life and will rejoice in the day we will all be together again.

Ida Fern is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Alvin Ganey, a son Joseph Randy Ganey, four brothers Woodrow Taylor, Claude Taylor, Clayton Taylor, Alonzo Taylor, and five sisters Mildred Twiner, Chessie Price, Freddie Hall, Annie Walpole, and Jewell Price.

Those left to love and miss her are her daughter Linda (Ganey) Cook, of the Nebo Community,  a son Jimmy Ganey & wife Angel, of the Nebo Community, a  brother Charles Taylor & wife Evelyn, of Dubach, La, granddaughter Chastity (Cook) Peppers & husband Keith, grandson Beau Cook & wife Carmen, granddaughter Jessica ( Ganey) Joy & husband Robbie, grandson Justin Ganey, granddaughter Jill (Ganey) Elliott & husband Heath,  a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens with Rev. Randy Ray officiating. Ida Fern will be laid to rest following the service in the Belah Cemetery, of the Belah Community, of Trout, La, under the directions of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve Mrs. Ida Fern as pallbearers are Danny Price, Jay Sanders, Andrew Sanders, Noah Carr, Timmy Hall, and Raymond Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Samuel Gulde and Mickey Cockerham.
