Homer Edward Looney, age 89 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022.

Born Tuesday, April 19, 1932 in Princeton, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie C. Shaddock Looney and John I. Looney; wife, Marjorie Virginia Looney; brother, Irving W. Looney; and sister, Vivian A. Hooder.

Mr. Looney joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1951 and left for active duty shortly thereafter, with tours of duty to Korea and the Artic. After active duty he continued in the ready reserve and retired with 41 years of Naval Service as a Master Chief Petty Officer (HTCM).

Upon release from active service, He enrolled at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and attained his degree in accounting. During his accounting career, he worked for Murphy Oil Corp., Tosco Corp., and retired from ConAgra Poultry Co.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Darlene Martin (Earl); son, Darell Reeves; and grandchild, Cody Stroud (Taylor); great grandchildren, Berklee and Audre; and sister, Patsy LeMay.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at First Baptist Church, from 1:00 PM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Montgomery with Rev. Lloyd Whitman and Rev. Craig McCain officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Cemetery, in Montgomery.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Cody Stroud, Earl Martin, Brian Williams, Trenton Smith, Dirk Graves, and Gil Harrison. Clyde Baines and Pat Sims will serve as honorary pallbearers.
