Mr. Guy C. Gaar, Jr. passed from this life on May 8, 2021 in Forest Haven Nursing and Rehab Center in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Guy was born to the union of Guy C. Gaar, Sr. and Clara Carter Gaar in Monroe, Louisiana on September 15, 1936. He spent his working career as an electrician working in several of the surrounding wood mills of Winn Parish. In his spare time, he enjoyed his family, traveling and fishing. Mr. Gaar will certainly be missed by all who had opportunity to meet him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guy C. and Clara Carter Gaar, one sister Sue Gunter, and brother-in-law Robert L. Gunter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his nephew Samuel G. Gunter (Angela), nieces Amanda Stewart (Joe), and Melissa Semb (Ron), great nephew Samuel Dray Gunter (Bethany), great niece Chelsea Johnson (Aaron), great great niece Malia Gunter, great great nephew Sawyer Johnson, step-nieces Taylor and Madison, step-nephew Nathanael.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeff Haugh, Jeffrey Haugh, Greg Haugh, Samuel Vidrine, Blake Vidrine, and Samuel G. Gunter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana. Funeral Services for Mr. Gaar will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at New Hope Methodist Church in Dodson, Louisiana at 12PM with Rev. Paul Stearns officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
