Gordon Cornelius Brown, born on October 6, 1942, of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, June 29 2023. He was a proud and faithful member of Belah Pentecostal Church. He was a former machine operator at Beldon and truck driver for Pelican Truck Lines. Gordon was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, compassion for others, love for his family and his church, and his ability to grow the best butter beans you have ever tasted.
Mr. Gordon was survived by one sister, Barbara DeVille of Nebo, and many Nieces and Nephews, and their children who will cherish the memories of his love and life. Friends, church family and coworkers who will also love and miss his presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Derius and Edith Parker Brown, and one sister Shirley Collins.
Family will receive friends at 6:00PM on Sunday July 2, 2023, at Belah Pentecostal Church, to share fond memories and honor the legacy left he behind. Funeral Services will be held at Belah Pentecostal Church at 11:00AM on Monday July 03, 2023, followed by interment at Belah Cemetery. Revs. Bro. Hutchinson, Bro. Darrell Collins, Bro. Curtis Thornton, Bro. Larry Chapman, and Bro. Darren Smith will share in officiating. Those honored as pallbearers are, Darrell Collins, Ronnie Collins, Roger DeVille, Tony DeVille, Rod Walker, and Tracy Howard. Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home will direct the services.
