Girline (Murphy) Smith, age 93 of Alexandria, made her way to her Heavenly home on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  Girline was born to the blessed union of Robert and Beatrice Murphy on February 13, 1931.  She was a long time resident of Jackson Parish.  Girline and her husband, Marion, were proud owners of Smith's Jewelry Store.

Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Angela (Smith) Dowden and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Jennifer Terrebonne and husband Tyler, Trey Dowden and wife Annslea; great grandchild, Olivia Grace Terrebonne; sister, Eula (Murphy) Futrell; brother, Jerry Murphy.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion J. Smith; son, Bruce M. Smith; parents, Robert and Beatrice (Roberts) Murphy.

A graveside service is planned for Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2:00pm in Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stuart Toms officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Jonesboro in her memory.
