Mrs. Gerlene Jowers, age 94 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Born Saturday, September 29, 1928 in Chatham, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Onie Ola Simons Wise and Tom B. Wise; husband, Elton O. Jowers; and siblings, John Pete Wise, Goldie Faye Shows, Buster Wise, Lloyd Wise, Henry Wise, and Thomas Wise.

Mrs. Jowers retired from Dixie Pharmacy after thirty plus years as a pharmacy tech. She was a long-time and active member of Hargis Baptist Church and also was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. Mrs. Jowers enjoyed holiday baking and cooking for family and friends, and will especially be remembered for mowing her own yard at age 90.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Judy C. Randall (David); son, Jerry W. Jowers (Linda); siblings, Gerald Wise, Charles Wise, Barney Wise, and Betty Jo Deen; grandchildren, Nicole, Jeff, Sherry, and Tammie; great grandchildren, Jessie, Triston, Cheyenne, Colton, and Julie; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Hargis Baptist Church, from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Hargis Baptist Church with Rev. Doug James officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
