Mr. George Harold Stroud, age 76, of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his residence in Dodson.

George was born on Sunday, January 8, 1950, in Winnfield, Louisiana. A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, he made his home in Dodson, where he was known for his quiet ways and steady presence. George enjoyed the simple comforts of life—watching football games and classic westerns on television, and spending time in his recliner with a pinch of chewing tobacco, content in familiar routines.

Mr. Stroud was a proud US Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Stroud; his mother, Effie Sandidge Stroud; and his siblings, Ruth Stroud, Charles Stroud, James Stroud, and Basil Stroud.

Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Mary Stroud; his children, George Stroud, Jr. (Stacy), Joann Cobb (Brookie), Dorothy Crouse (Jesse), Jeff Tarver (Yvette), and Dekota Gongre (Rheachel); fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Harlan (Wayne), along with a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at New Testament Church, 163 Dani Drive, Jonesboro, Louisiana, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Rebecca Blacksher and Rev. Norris Curry officiating.
