Frank Francis Woolsey

Listen to Obituary

Frank Francis Woolsey was born January 29, 1943, and went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 11, 2026. He was 83.

Frank grew up in Ouachita Parish and spent his earlier years picking cotton, taking care of his younger siblings, and learning mechanics. He was known as one of the best diesel mechanics around for his uncanny ability of being able to listen to an engine, then diagnose exactly what was wrong with it before ever tearing it apart. Many a story has been passed down about this and of how he fashioned parts out of the most unlikely materials (like pantyhose).

To a multitude of people, he was one of the nicest, most generous people who would help any way he could, to others he was known to be as mean as the devil. To his kids he was just daddy (and yes, we thought he was as mean as the devil most of the time too)!

He was a determined individual, taught himself to read using the Bible with help from his kids and his Virginia, preached getting a good education, and working hard. He strived to be a good person (although he failed at times) and taught his kids to do the same.

He and his life were not perfect, he had stumbles, missteps, and falls, but he and his life were perfectly him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anita Virginia Laurent Woolsey and other family members.

Left to miss him are his children, April Woolsey Vivas, Frank Louis Woolsey and wife Shanna and his baby Katrina Woolsey Jordan and husband Bob, sister, Linda Armstrong-Wade along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family/friends.

Thank you to the Administration and Staff of Autumn Leaves Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Hand in Hand Hospice Care for their loving and compassionate care.

A memorial service will be held at the Rayville Church of God, 2084 Highway 137, Rayville, LA on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 3PM.

Rest Daddy. We love you!
