Mr. Floyd Lynn Chelette, Sr., age 74 of Dry Prong, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

Born Saturday, August 23, 1947 in Black Creek, La., he was preceded in death by his parents, Nola Bass Chelette and James E. "Sam" Chelette; and siblings, James D. Chelette, Robert Chelette, Dorothy Hodnett, and Inez Attwood.

Mr. Chelette was retired from the Louisiana DOTD with 33 years of service. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Williana, and enjoyed gardening, yard work, camping, duck hunting, and large family dinners.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Johnnie Lane Murry Chelette; children, Floyd Lynn Chelette, Jr., Jeffery Jay Chelette, and Kerry Lea Chelette; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren;siblings, Lloyd Glen Chelette, Susie Attwood, and Marjorie Harvey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Chuck Evans and Rev. W.D. Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, in Williana, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Lloyd Chelette, Mike Chelette, Mike North, Kelby Chelette, Hunter Chelette, and Daniel Chelette.
