Mrs. Florence Oglesby Dubois, a beloved resident of Colfax, Louisiana, was born on February 5, 1933, in Dartigo, Louisiana, and peacefully departed this world on December 25, 2023, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Mrs. Dubois was a dedicated and passionate teacher's aide at Colfax Elementary School for an admirable 20 years. Her commitment to education touched the lives of countless students, leaving an indelible mark on the school and the community. She was also an active member of the Summerfield Baptist Church, where her faith played a central role in her life.

Known for her homemaking skills, Florence took great pride in creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family. Her culinary talents were exceptional, and the love she poured into her cooking was felt by all who gathered around her table. Whether through a comforting meal or a caring gesture, Florence's family was always her top priority.

In her leisure time, Mrs. Dubois found joy in the simplicity of life, enjoying arts and crafts as a means of expressing her creativity. A good cup of coffee was a cherished indulgence, and she found solace in those quiet moments of reflection.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Oglesby and Nettie Chellette Oglesby, her loving husband Lawrence Dubois, and her daughter Kathy Dubois Barton. She was also preceded by three sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Dubois leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her son Larry Wayne Dubois and his wife Joyce, two grandchildren Heath Dubois and Jerrod Barton, as well as several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Florence Oglesby Dubois will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Nick Verrett officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Shady Grove Cemetery near Colfax.

Family and friends are invited to share their memories and offer condolences during the visitation on Thursday, starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.

Pallbearers will be Jack McLaren, Glen Dubois, Brad Tilton, Ty Melton, Johnny Carl Antee, Owen Dubois.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Coolman,  and Jody Lavesphere.
