Mrs. Faye Shively Fitzgerald, age 86, of Dodson, LA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Alexandria, LA. Born on Sunday, October 24, 1937, in Gansville, LA, she lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Faye was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Lee Fitzgerald and was a dedicated pastor's wife. She retired from the Dodson school lunchroom and was a cherished member of Gloryway Church. Faye enjoyed traveling, especially on her "girl's trips," and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. Her greatest wish was for each of them to follow Jesus, a sentiment she expressed fervently to each of them in her final days.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James W. Shively and Minnie B. Prestridge Shively; her husband, Rev. Lee Fitzgerald; her grandson, Tristun Racine; and her siblings, Jerry Taylor, Valena Coon, and J. L. Shively.

She is survived by her loving children: Mike Fitzgerald (Tannah), Phillip Fitzgerald (April), Kelli Barker (David), Keith Fitzgerald (Kristie), and Nikki Taylor (Jimmy). Faye was also a proud grandmother to 22 grandchildren, and she leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Public visitation will be held at Gloryway Church on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at Gloryway Church on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Keith Fitzgerald and Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
