Mr. Elijah Sparks "Sparky" Foster, Jr., 92 of Winnfield, Louisiana was received in to Heaven on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield.

Born Thursday, October 17, 1929 in Ruston, Louisiana, he was the son of the late E. S. Foster, Sr. and Elizabeth Pyburn Foster. He met and married the love of his life, Gwen McDonald Foster whom he was married to for 67 years. Mr. Sparky spent his working career in the education field and served as coach at Jonesboro Hodge, and various other schools. He retired from Louisiana Tech University as Vice President of Student Affairs. He was an avid outdoorsman and very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents E. S. and Elizabeth Pyburn Foster; siblings, Nadine Foster, Miriam Foster Drummond, Nedra Foster Parry, Patricia (Pat) Foster White, and Cornelius "Neal" Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Gwen McDonald Foster; children, Dennis McDonald Foster (Michelle), daughter, Laura Faulk (Bert); grandchildren, Leslie Barron, Mary Allyn McCoy, and Lainie Foster; one great grand child, Mila Perkins; sister, Mary Foster Allen; his Fur Babies; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Southern Funeral Home located at 202 E. Lafayette St. Winnfield, Louisiana 71483 with Bro. Tom May officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the funeral home.
