Ms. Edna "Tootie" Barton Whittom, age 80 of Atlanta, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Born Saturday, August 22, 1942 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Horn, and Aubrey Whittom; grandson, Caleb Jones; great granddaughter, Selena Jimenez; father, Wilmer "Bill" and MellieTaylor Barton; siblings, Ray Taylor, Samuel Barton, Gerald Barton, Clyde Barton, Lennie "Sis" Guynes, and Angelene "Pete" Bartley.

She spent her working career at Pinecrest State School, served as a babysitter throughout the years as well as nursery attendant at South Winnfield Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Frances Rogers; daughters, Pamela Jones (Shayne), Diane Shill (David); sons, Patrick Horn (Nicole), Gary Whittom (Olivia); grandchildren, Shelby Jones, Sean Whittom, Garrison Horn, Jonathon Whittom, Justin and James Boughton, Sierra Horn, Sydney Horn, Shannon Bazar, Bella Jones, and Cassandra Boughton; one great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Miller, Rev. Danny Keyes, and Rev. Craig James officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Wheeling, Louiusiana.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM , and again on Tuesday from 9:00AM until time of services.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Tom Gongre, Justin Gongre, Jonathon Whittom, Poul Jimenez, Greg Lang, Zachary McDowell, Payton Bradford, and Glynn Guynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Jones, Sean Whittom, Garrison Horn, Vince Bartley, Bill Rogers, Kenneth Barton, Dale Barton, Ricky Barton, and Randy Barton.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
