Mrs. Edith Alene Wilson Banks, age 85 of Grayson, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was a retired portrait photographer. She was an outspoken yet kind-hearted person who loved cooking for her friends and family.

Born Sunday, October 10, 1937 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her mother, Melvina Walton; her father, Vezie Wilson; her husbands, Tom Benson and Jerry Banks; and siblings, Jimmy Wilson, Marlene Ford, Lois Curry, and Maxine Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Randy Benson (Donna), Andy Benson (Belinda), and Gina Banks; siblings, Martha Maloy, Opal Hill, and R. D. Wilson; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; and a very special cousin, Lucille Sharbono, who was also a devoted friend.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks, LA with Bro. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Southern Funeral Home at Winnfield.

The family will receive friends at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
