Dustin Eli
Sockey
Apr 13, 1993 — Mar 30, 2026
Monroe
Dustin Eli Sockey of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly at his house on Monday March 30th 2026 at the age of 32.
Dustin was born to Glenn Sockey and Angela (Soileau) Barton on April 13th 1993 in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Those here to cherish his memory are his parents, Angela and Rusty Barton, Glenn Sockey and Michele Jones. His sisters, Dallas Price (Brett), and Loren Desadier (Derrick), his brothers Landon and Noah Barton. Nephews Rowan and Will, and niece, Dani-Raye. He will be dearly remembered also by his grandparents, Gil and Lorna Dean and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents William Eli Sockey and Joan Sockey
A beloved son, a treasured brother and uncle, a cherished grandchild, a precious friend, and above all, an endeared brother in Christ. Dustin was a sensitive, sincere soul who cared deeply for others. He appreciated the raw beauty in the things around him and was intentional in seeing the good in every one. He was a gifted artist who loved the outdoors and being in nature, camping, fishing and gardening. To be loved by him was a radical gift that few souls are capable of giving. He was never short on hugs or laughs and was always ready to share in the simple blessings of life.
Though Dustin's race was often run on rugged ground, he sought out his savior fearlessly. We take comfort in knowing that he has been relieved from the struggles and burdens of this earthly existence and is now resting in the presence of the Lord. We are heartbroken because we miss him deeply, but we can also have joy knowing he is at peace, leaving his battle behind him on this side of eternity.
