Dorothy Jeanett Young, age 84, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was born on Saturday, July 5, 1941, in Winn Parish, Louisiana.

Dorothy spent much of her life in Winnfield and, due to physical disabilities, had been a resident of the nursing home for the past 40 years. During that time, she greatly cherished the visits and companionship of her family. Those moments of fellowship meant a great deal to her and brought her much comfort and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her father, Travis Young; her mother, Rosie Jordan Young; her sister, Charlotte Annette Young; her brother, Fred Young; and her sister-in-law, Cherry Young.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Travis Lee Young; her sister-in-law, Jan Young; her cousins, Deborah Fordham and husband Jim, Monty Jordan and Marshall Jordan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will remember her with love.

A graveside service will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating.
