Dorothy "Dot" Peterson passed away at her residence in Saline, Louisiana on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.  She was 89 years old.  Dot was well-known in community and took pride in being a homemaker.  She and her husband, Donel raised 2 children.  Dot enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Peterson (Sheri); daughter, Donna Cheatwood (Lonnie, Jr.); grandchildren, Luke Cheatwood (Michael), Josh Peterson (Christy), Kelly Peterson, and Dana Fontenot (West); great-grandchildren, Levi Cheatwood, Kylee Hay, Zoey Cheatwood, Seth Peterson, Briley Peterson, Josie Hegland, Jon-Pierre Fontenot; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Donel Peterson; father, Arthur Caskey; and mother, Lottie (Lindsey) Caskey.

Friends may visit with the family at Carolina Baptist Church on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Bro. Ken Roberts will officiate the funeral service which will begin at noon.  Burial will be in the Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Scott Kidd, Greg Stephens, Ed Hurt, Klint Robinson, Danny Carr and Jubal Cheatwood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Ronnie Morris and Matt Cheatwood.
