Mrs. Dorothy Marie Lummus, age 95 of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Born Saturday, September 24, 1927 in Campti, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Lasyone Stroud; her father, Edward Stroud; her husband, Fred Lummus; her sister, Lois Stroud; her brother, Gerald Stroud; and her sons, Kevin and Gerald Lummus.

Mrs. Lummus was a member of Montgomery United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Lummus loved listening to her music and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, John Lummus (O'Matha); 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from noon until 2:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Stroud and Rev. Jeff Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Montgomery.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Edward Stroud, Jason Walker , Kevin Broussard, Casey Lummus, Daniel Rousseau, and Gerry Lummus.
