Mrs. Dorothy Lee Johnson, age 80, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in her hometown.

Born on Friday, September 22, 1944, in Winnfield, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the community she loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and steadfast spirit touched the lives of many. For over 20 years, she was a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart, where her friendly nature and strong work ethic made her a valued member of the team and a familiar face to many in the community.

Dorothy was a longtime member of First Assembly of God in Winnfield, where her faith was a constant source of strength and comfort. Above all, she cherished her role as a full-time grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she found immense joy in every moment spent with them. She also had a special love for her dogs, who were her beloved companions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tilden Johnson; her son, Chucky Charles Johnson; her daughter, Teresa Renee Johnson Gatlin; her parents, George and Jessie Box Gorham; and her siblings, Ottis Gorham, Curtis Gorham, Jean Thompson, Billie Roberts, and Garland Gorham.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Stacy Johnson and wife Frances, and Steven Johnson, both of Winnfield; her grandchildren, Laura, Brandi, Shelby, Brittany, Morgan, Chelsey, Joshua, Madeline, and Alyssa; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald Gorham; a host of nieces and nephews; and her cherished furbabies—Little Man, Max, and Ottie.

Public visitation will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Kevin Boles and Rev. Shaun Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kendall O'Bryan, Kane Toms, Morgan Johnson, Colby Ray, Joshua Johnson, and Ronald O'Bryan.
