Delmer Maxwell, Sr. passed away at his home on Thursday, May 23, 2024.  He was 85 years old.  Delmer was a hard worker all of his life, holding such jobs as a logger, farmer and driller.  In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  The joy of his life however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Delmer is survived by: Daughter - Judy Horton & Loryn, Son - Delmer Maxwell, Jr., Daughter - Debbie Dillon & Bobby, Son - John Maxwell, Sr. & Tisha; A Host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Siblings - Tricia Myers & Bobby, Brenda Williams, Cathy Greer & Charles, Elton Maxwell & Navonda, Dale Maxwell & Donna and Bobby Maxwell & Jo Ann.

He was preceded in death by his Father - Odell Maxwell; Mother - Irene (Batonfield) Maxwell; Wife - Louise Maxwell; Grandson - Steven Dale Maxwell; Brother - Jimmy Maxwell; Sister - Barbara Dispenzia; and Sister - Lettiress Carr.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2024 in the chapel. Bro. Geary Phillips and Bro. Lance Huckaby will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories in Jonesboro.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jack Dillon, Jr., Cameron Dillon, Gage Hassian, Jeremy Maxwell, Michael Maxwell, Chris Maxwell, Chase Maxwell and John Maxwell, Jr.
