Mr. David Edward Sanson, Jr., age 85 of Jonesville, Louisiana passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.

Born Tuesday, December 1, 1936 in Walters, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, David Edward Sanson, Sr. and Susan Emmaline Johnson Sanson; wife, Johnnie Chevallier Sanson; siblings, Rev. Thomas G. Sanson, Sr., Betty Crooks and Janie Mae Huffman; grandson, Brian Spears.

Mr. Sanson was retired from the LaSalle Parish Police Jury and was a member and deacon of Prosperity Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, tending to his farm, and his loving family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his special friend, Patricia Rodney; children, Edward Glenn Sanson, Enise Knight (Francis), Renee Bradford (Jerry) and Sherry Sabitus (Bill); sister, Joyce Doughty; grandchildren, Brian, Josh, Tina, Lee, Garrett and Little Eddie; great-grandchildren, Lane, Peyton, Caden, Paige, Matthew, Brianna, Ethan, Eli and Little Bryan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Prosperity Baptist Church in Jonesville with Rev. Tommy G. Sanson, Jr. and Rev. Peyton Spears officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, in Whitehall under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Sunday from 10:00AM until time of services.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Eddie Sanson, Lee Wetherly, Josh Spears, Garrett Spears, Jerry Bradford, Francis Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be James Rodney, Len Huffman, Bill Sabitus, Richard Brown, Robert Huffman, Donnie Huffman, LaVelle Stevenson, Shelby Masters, Dal Aymond, Son Guice and Jeff Randall.
