Mr. David Leo McManus passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Ruston, Louisiana at the age of 79.  He was married to Bernice Bonnette McManus for 60 years. David wore many hats over the years.  He was a shipping supervisor at the paper mill in Hodge,  a logger, and owner of McManus Sod Farm in Chatham.  David was elected as a Police Juror and served the people of Jackson Parish For 18 years. He served as deacon at the Greater Apostolic Church and never met a stranger.

David leaves behind his wife, Bernice McManus; sons, Richard McManus, Sr. and wife, Kim, David L. McManus, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Kevin McManus, Sr. and wife, Candy, and Eric McManus, Sr. and wife, Shelly; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Emily Fields, Mary Pardue, Catherine Chambliss, Becky Tolar, Deb Newman, Sue Causey, Juanita Brown, and Kim Plunkett.

Preceding David in death are his parents, Alvin and Vernie (Spillers) McManus; brothers, Rev. Doyle McManus, and Jack McManus, Jr.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Greater Apostolic Church of Eros, Louisiana from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Brother John Mixon and Brother Jimmy Fletcher officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers include Paul, Dillon, Winn, Mathew and R.J. McManus as well as Brian Womack and Brent Barnett.  Honorary Pallbearers will be George Breland, R.J. Duvall, and Trevor Tolbert.
