Darlene Vines, age 85, of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 in Winnfield. Born on September 22, 1940, in Winn Parish, Louisiana, she lived a life marked by quiet devotion, steady work, and a deep love for her husband and son.

Mrs. Vines was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Beverly Vines; her parents, Jessie Calvin Cox and Ruby Midkiff Cox; and her siblings, Rachel Woods, Evie Southall, Tish Vail, David Cox, James Cox, Shirley McGuire, and Herbert Cox.

She dedicated many years of her life to her work, serving as a machine operator at Stone Container for 34 years before continuing an additional two years in the office. Her strong work ethic and reliability were evident to all who knew her. Beyond her career, Darlene found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved reading, cooking, and collecting recipes. Her hands were rarely still, as she spent countless hours crocheting. This past Christmas she crochet blankets for several of her loved ones.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Benny Vines. Who she loved beyond words. Also along with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
