Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Curtis Glen Whittington, 87, of Liberty, Mississippi, will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Sardis Cemetery, near Winnfield, Louisiana, with Rev. Larry Whittington officiating.

Mr. Curtis, a retired special education school teacher, was born on November 29, 1938 to George Whittington and Leethie Evans Whittington in Wisner, Lousiana and passed from this life on May 30, 2026 in Zachary, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Lee and Leethie Whittington McDaniel, step-father, Leon McDaniel, brothers, Earl Whittington, Charles Whittington, Alton Whittington, Roy Whittington, Billy Whittington, sister, Linda Whittington Delaughter, step-sister, Bonnie M. Albritton, and step-brothers, Ed McDaniel and George McDaniel.  He is survived by nine nieces and three nephews, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darryl Whittington, Waylon Jones, Brandy Davis, Damon Ellerbe, Tyler Jones, and Cody Davis.

He loved his family very much and his family loved their "Uncle Curtis".  He was always proud of family and their accomplishments, especially with their education achievements.  Curtis was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in 1962, where he received his bachelors degree and was a graduate of Louisiana State University in 1970, where he received his masters degree in special education.  He made it a point to give to others throughout his life.  He was always helping others when he could.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at Southern Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 12:45PM.
